Lee James MSc,RHAD,MSHAA,MRSPH,AMIOA
Senior Chief Audiologist & Director of James Hearing Ltd
Background: Lee James has 24 years experience in the field of Audiology, both NHS and private sector. He is Clinical Lead and Head of Audiology at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and a dispenser of private hearing aids in Oxford and Oxfordshire.
Qualifications: BTEC Medical Physics Physiological Measurement, BAAT Parts I & II (Distinction), HTEC Medical Physics Physiological Measurement, MSc Audiology (Merit) at University College London, consistently ranked amongst the top 10 world universities – currently the only dispenser in Oxford thus qualified. Hearing Aid Council Clinical Exams.
Specialties: Complex diagnostics requested by ENT/Neurology consultants or GPs and word-of-mouth recommendations form the majority of Lee’s private caseload. Extensive medico-legal audiometry, vestibular system assessment and noise protection work performed. Prescribing and fitting hearing aids to complicated hearing losses. Lee also specialises in the fitting of wireless CROS/BICROS hearing systems. Lee has a great wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with specialist products for example, custom made electronic and passive hearing protection for industry, shooting and motorsport. Lee also deals with our musicians hearing services which include custom made ER filtered plugs and in-ear monitors. He regularly consults to musicians at various studios around Oxford and London on all aspects of hearing and hearing protection. Lee regularly lectures to Oxford University medical students on all aspects of audiology at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Lee is an active contributor to several research projects within Oxford University and is currently the lead audiologist on a new study into Meniere's disease.
Amjad Mahmood BSc,MSc,CCC,RHAD

Amjad Mahmood began his audiological career in 2003 in Oxford. Notable past roles include working for the MOD as well as within the NHS. Amjad left the NHS in early 2014 to take an exciting opportunity in the Middle East as a lead clinician across sites in Abu Dhabi (Al Ain) and Qatar (Doha).
Since arriving back in the UK, Amjad has transitioned into academia alongside his clinical caseload, lecturing at the prestigious Ear Institute at UCL, training the next generation of Audiologists on programmes including BSc Healthcare Science, MSc Audiological Science, MSc Advanced Audiology & MSc Otology/Audio-Vestibular Medicine. Periodically, Amjad returns to the Middle East to contribute to the development of Audiological services.
MSc Audiology from DMU, BSc (Hons) Audiology at the renowned Institute for Sound and Vibration Research at the University of Southampton, Clinical Certificate of Competence (CCC), Hearing Aid Council Clinical Exams (RHAD) and Presently studying for doctorate (DAud).
Specialties:Medico-Legal Audiology, Adult & Paediatric diagnostic and rehabilitative Audiology with a particular interest in speech discrimination testing, Vestibular diagnostics and rehabilitation and Tinnitus assessment, counselling and rehabilitation.
Amjad is an active contributor to several research projects, collaborating with ENT peers.
Bernadette Mitchell RN,PG Dip,NMP

Background: Bernadette Mitchell has 23 years experience in the field of Aural Care. Having worked and gained a great deal of experience within ENT at the John Radcliffe, Oxford. Bernadette is currently a Departmental Sister & Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
Qualifications: RN, Post Graduate Diploma.
Specialties: Works autonomously to diagnose and treat all ear conditions from simple ear wax to post-operative care of major ear surgery patients. Wax Removal in Oxford.
Bernadette also works as a lecture practitioner teaching nurses in primary care how to examine and diagnose simple ear problems and is an advocate for aural care nursing nationally as a forum committee member for the Royal College of Nursing ENT forum.
Darren James RHAD
Chief Audiologist & Tinnitus Specialist
Background: Darren James has 32 years experience in the field of Audiology, both public and private sector. He is currently a Chief Audiologist working in the West Midlands area. He looks after our patients at the Spire South Bank Hospital, Worcester and surrounding Worcestershire areas.

Darshini Surti BSc,MSc,RHAD

Background: Darshini Surti began her audiological career in 2011. She is currently working as a senior audiologist at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
Qualifications: MSc Advanced Audiology (Merit) from the University of Manchester, BSc (Hons) Audiology from De Montfort University. Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser.
Specialities: Adult and Paediatric Hearing assessment and management. She also has expertise with medico-legal screening and medico-legal audiograms. Darshini also specialises in the fitting of Phonak Lyric hearing aids.
Eleanor Mace MSc,RHAD

Background: Eleanor Mace has 15 years experience in the field of Audiology, both public and private sector. She is currently a Chief Audiologist working in the Oxford area.

Bethany Singleton BSc,RHAD
Background: Bethany graduated from the University of Bristol in 2014 with a BSc in Audiology. She has been working as an audiologist in the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford since. She has experience in both adult and paediatric assessments and management.
Qualifications: BSc in Audiology.

Dharmin Naik BSc,MRCCP,MBTA
Background: Dharmin graduated in 2014 from the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at the University of Southampton. He worked as an audiologist at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Paddington where he learnt innovative methods of counselling and rehabilitation for patients with sudden onset of hearing loss, ototoxicity and tinnitus. He has recently joined the John Radcliffe Hospital where he has continued his assessment and rehabilitation of adult and paediatric patients.
He is qualified in conducting wax removal and believes in delivering a safe and effective service to patients in the comfort of their own homes.

Background: Jessica has had intensive customer service training with previous experience in children’s services.
Qualifications: Jessica has an NVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration.
Specialities: Jessica joined James Hearing in 2015 with a key role in looking after our clinics for hearing tests, hearing aids and noise protection.
Beatriz da Silva
Background: Beatriz has over 5 years experience in customer service and administration. She joined the John Radcliffe Audiology Department in 2016 and ensures the effective day to day operation of the NHS adult audiology service.
Qualifications: Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business studies with triple distinction grade .
Specialities: The management and booking of Medico legal referrals, tinnitus therapy referrals and referrals for ENG/Caloric testing.
Background: Stuart Harris has 17 years Audiology experience having began his audiological career in 1997. Stuart has built a reputable career both within the private and public sector with a current NHS Paediatric role at Plymouth NHS hospital. Stuart looks after our patients in Plymouth and the surrounding areas for home and clinic appointments and is also a Paediatric Specialist offering expert assistance for children with hearing difficulties.
Qualifications: MBA from the University of Exeter, BAAT Part I & II and Hearing Aid Council Clinical Exams.
