Speech Audiometry

The ability to recognise and understand speech clearly in a noisy environment, rather than just hear sound, is not measurable via pure tone audiometry tests alone

Speech audiometry is an ear-specific means of comparing your discrimination levels to the average listener.  Everyday discourse is simulated to gauge how well you perceive voices and filter out unwanted distractions, which can be challenging for the partially deafened.

This data proves invaluable information in predicting likely hearing aid benefits in a real-life context, or the outcome of certain ENT surgery.
